The Piano Technology School offers an intensive introduction to Piano Technology.
 
Designed for anyone looking for a career as a piano tuner, this course provides a professionally driven curriculum, teaching relevant practical skills; Piano tuning by ear, on the road running repairs and maintenance, as well as theory and business awareness.
 
Based on an internationally recognised integrated method of teaching, we use the latest in digital tuning software to assist in the teaching process and thus speeds up the learning process for students.
 
Director Steve Steve Droy has over 30 years experience as a professional piano tuner, working in London with an extensive client base and includes recording studio and live event experience   He was guest lecturer in the final year of the Piano Technology course at the London Metropolitan University,(formerly London college of Furniture), after successfully establishing the Institute of Piano technology for Furtados in India, The Piano Technology School has been running courses since 2015. He is a member of IMIT  and is on the council of the Piano Tuners’ Association. Steve still tunes for his customers and as part of his own CPD, has recently obtained  his level 3 AET training certificate.
 
Our mission is to offer students a practical introduction to the trade, and support them into work and further training.  We encourage continued professional development and have, through our growing reputation, been able to forge links with various businesses; including KAWAI UK in Milton Keynes, where all students will be able to gain valuable experience. We believe that our course provides a practical stepping stone for students and that there is much to learn from those technicians who have years of experience. To this end we encourage our students to join I.M.I.T and the Piano Tuners Association.
